These images are an intended celebration of colour, movement and human nature. An exploration in to the unknown revealing an unconventional visual beauty often overlooked. Veering clear from the usual postcard style photography, Ireland based Documentary Photographer Treasa Giblin Frazer navigates old and new territories concentrating on the reality of everyday life unposed in the hope to demystify all cultures while portraying a sense of gradual change.
A Photograph can make us understand, react and empathize with the wider world by humanizing and honoring the unknown.
My ongoing project "The Quiet Decline of Rural Life", Focuses on the gradual disappearance of traditional rural life in various Countries, conveying a sense of loss and nostalgia in small, isolated villages, aging communities, younger generations and fading customs that are at risk of vanishing in the face of modernity. The aim is to Capture the beauty and melancholy of these changes, highlighting the tension between deep-rooted cultural heritage and the pull of contemporary life. Language and traditions in some Countries are deeply intertwined with its identity, yet globalization, urbanization, and digitalization have impacted rural communities. In this series of images divided by Countries, I try to offer an intimate, emotional look at this shift as a visual and emotional exploration of identity in the context of a changing world. A resilience, adaptation, environmental stewardship, and the balance between tradition and modernity.
'What was any art but a mould in which to imprison for a moment. The shining elusive element which is life itself - life hurrying past us and running away. Too strong to stop, too sweet to lose'. - Willa Carther
